About the Role:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the day-to-day operation of computer networks that CDC relies on. These networks typically include an intranet, extranet, local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN)

Key accountabilities

  • Technical design and implementation of Palo Alto, Cisco and Dell Networking
  • Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert and provide guidance
  • Monitoring and configurational tools (Paessler PRTG, Observium)
  • L2/L3 Switching
  • Detailed understanding of IP protocols and principals including:
  • Routing Protocols (OSPF & BGP) – VPN Technologies (SSL, IPSec, MPLS)
  • NextGen Firewalls (Sophos XG/Palo Alto) – IDS/IPS
  • Enterprise Wireless Networks (Sophos, Cambium Networks)
  • Optical Networking (ADVA, Cisco) – Desirable
  • Comply with our Information Security Policy
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Building and maintaining relationships
  • Vendor management (Carriers)
  • Being part of a virtual team, working independently
  • Attention to detail

About You:

  • Strong documentation and compliance skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills on large networks
  • Experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies.


  • Industry-related certifications (CCNP, JNCIP etc)


Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance
